John Flynn
Co-Founder / Board Member
John is a seasoned entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience driving innovation in credit unions, banking, and financial services. He has co-founded and led multiple ventures dedicated to solving real-world needs, from pioneering risk-management programs to transforming lending through data-driven insights.
Under his leadership as co-founder, president, and CEO of Open Lending LLC and its subsidiary Lenders Protection LLC, John grew the business into an industry powerhouse—earning spots on Austin Business Journal’s Fast 50, the INC 5000, and multiple “Best Place to Work” honors.
In 2019 he won the Ernst & Young Central Texas Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Technology.
In 2020 guided Open Lending to a successful IPO that vaulted its valuation from $1.3 billion to $5 billion within six months.
A firm believer in people helping people, John has been a major supporter of the PenFed Foundation and veteran causes.
He also co-founded Hammocks on the Edisto, a treatment center for women facing mental health and substance-abuse challenges.
John holds a BA in Accounting from Bloomsburg University and lives on Johns Island, SC, with his wife Michelle.
In his spare time he mentors entrepreneurs, engages with youth programs, and enjoys golf.

Thomas Heyden
Chief Revenue Officer
Thomas brings over 30 years of experience in credit unions, fintech, and sales leadership.
Before joining our team, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at Driven CU and spent 24 years at CUNA Mutual Group, most recently as Vice President of Fintech Solutions Sales at TruStage. A retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel with 30 years of service, Thomas also serves on the Board of Directors for Carrick Professionals.
He holds a Business Administration degree from Elon University and lives in Winston-Salem, NC.
Isabella Alfaro
Director of Marketing and Communications
Isabella's career background is in disruptive technologies, where she's strategized with organizations to bring bold ideas to life and expand their impact.
She studied International Relations and Spanish at Middlebury College, where she was also a year-round varsity athlete.
In her spare time she enjoys live music, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and Cormac McCarthy novels.
